I have decided to part ways with my grandparents 1992 Lincoln TownCar. This car started my love for Lincoln’s. My grandpa purchased this new in 1992 for my grandmother as his 50th wedding anniversary gift to her. To say this car has been loved and cherished is an understatement and I think it shows in its appearance. The car has been garaged its entire life and never sat outside. Mechanically very sound. My grandma passed in 1998 when it was 6 years old. Grandpa drove it off and on ( he preferred his truck) until his passing in 2013 - I took ownership of the car- it has remained in their garage and driven periodically but it has sat a lot. It’s time for it to be enjoyed and loved by someone. It needs a little TLC. Ac is no longer blowing cold I noticed when I drove last October. Passenger front window regulator I believe needs replaced. I last drove it in October of 25. Fast forward and last weekend I decided to possibly sell it. A friend drove it and after a turnpike drive overdrive stopped engaging. Apparently these have a cable that can get brittle and snap? The trans was replaced by Lincoln dealer 1 year prior to grandpa passing away. It was replaced for that very reason it sat a lot in the garage they said and the cable got brittle and snapped. They told him they would advise to just replace it with a new trans from ford. So they did just that. It has not been driven 10k miles since. I fine it hard to believe it needs an entire transmission. It shifts fine in regular drive but not overdrive. May be simple repair. I do not have the time to address this but the car is entirely too gorgeous to continue sitting in the garage I’m just emotionally attached to it but it’s time for someone to invest a little and love the car for what it is. A beautiful true completely original classic luxury sedan that has beautiful chrome and nearly flawless paint. Interior is like new. It’s a lot of wonderful car for what it is but it needs a little TLC! I just want it to go to a good home where it will be loved. 106,000 carefully driven miles by my grandparents since new. Garage always. Oil changed regular. New starter in 2023. Other than the trans over drive issue, regulator and ac. It’s in pristine condition for 34 years old. To my knowledge that’s all. Still has the original air ride and it works wonderfully. Bought new from Fred jones Lincoln mercury in Tulsa Oklahoma and remained in Oklahoma its entire life. I’m willing to negotiate I just want the car to be taken of and continue to be cared for but enjoyed and driven more than I do
